Teacher Academic Resume Template

Teacher Academic Resume Template · Built for schools, colleges and HEC faculty posts

Built for Pakistani teachers and academics. Presented as an Academic Curriculum Vitae in Georgia serif, Oxford navy and gold, with a header panel carrying your highest degree and years of teaching before a reader reaches anything else. Those two facts decide most academic shortlists.

The sections follow academic convention rather than corporate: Abstract, Academic Qualifications, Teaching Experience, Areas of Expertise, Publications and Training, and Languages. Qualifications come before experience, which is the order a selection board reads in.

Teacher academic CV template Pakistan for HEC faculty, school and college posts by ResumifyAI

Who this template is for

This template is for anyone whose work is teaching, research or both. Pick this template if you are:

  • A school teacher applying to a private school, a school system or a trust run network
  • An Educator applying through a provincial recruitment process, where teaching qualification and subject specialisation are scored
  • A college lecturer or assistant professor applying to a public or private college
  • A university faculty applicant where HEC criteria, degree level and publications are assessed
  • A subject specialist, head of department, coordinator or vice principal
  • A PhD holder or scholar applying for an academic post, a research position or a visiting faculty role
  • A trainer or curriculum developer working in education rather than in a classroom
For provincial Educator posts and other government recruitment, check the advertisement carefully. If the file requires CNIC, domicile, a declaration and a signature, the Government template carries all four and this one does not. Many candidates need both: this CV for private schools and universities, that one for departmental applications.

Why this template works for academic applications

Highest degree and years of teaching are in the header

Academic shortlisting usually begins with a minimum qualification and a minimum number of years. Both sit in a labelled panel at the top, so a selection committee can clear you against the criteria before reading further.

Academic Qualifications come before Teaching Experience

This is the opposite of a corporate CV and it is correct for this field. In academic hiring the degree is the gate, and the committee reads qualification first. The template follows that order rather than fighting it.

Publications and Training is a named section

For university and college posts, publications carry scoring weight. Giving them a proper section with room for journals, conferences and training rather than folding them into a skills list is what allows those points to be awarded.

Areas of Expertise states what you can be assigned

Subject areas, grade levels, curricula and examination boards belong together. A head of department deciding whether you can cover A Level Chemistry or an intermediate class needs that stated, not inferred from your job history.

A scholarly register, deliberately

Georgia serif, deep navy and gold, with the document labelled an Academic Curriculum Vitae and an Abstract in place of a summary. Academia reads a restrained document as serious; the same content in a colourful layout reads as a candidate who has misjudged the audience.

How to write a strong academic CV using this template

Academic selection is closer to scoring than to impression. Degrees, years, subjects and publications are counted. Here is how to make each of them countable.

Write the Abstract as a scholarly position, not a pitch

Weak: "Passionate and dedicated teacher who loves to inspire young minds and make a difference."
Strong: "MPhil in Physics with eight years teaching intermediate and A Level Physics at a Lahore college system. Research interest in conceptual assessment methods, with two publications in HEC recognised journals. Applying for a lecturer position in Physics."

Give qualifications their year, institution and result

Academic committees score the academic record itself. List from the highest downward with the awarding institution, the year and the division or CGPA, and include your thesis title where you have one.

"MPhil Physics, University of the Punjab, 2019, CGPA 3.74 / 4.00. Thesis: conceptual understanding of electromagnetism among intermediate students. MSc Physics, University of the Punjab, 2016, First Division."

State grade levels, boards and curricula you have taught

"Teacher" covers everything from Montessori to postgraduate supervision. Be exact about what you can be assigned.

"Taught Physics to Grades 9 to 12 under the Federal Board and Cambridge A Level, and delivered a first year undergraduate mechanics course as visiting faculty."

List publications in a consistent citation format

Give authors, title, journal, volume and year, in the same format throughout. For HEC recognised journals, say so. An inconsistent publication list is read as carelessness in a field where citation accuracy is part of the work.

Include teaching evidence, not only teaching duties

Results, pass rates, students supervised, courses designed, materials produced. These are what distinguish two candidates with the same subject and the same years.

"Taught five intermediate Physics sections averaging 40 students each. Board results improved from a 71 percent to an 88 percent pass rate over three years. Supervised nine final year projects."

Record professional development and training

Teaching certifications, curriculum workshops, assessment training and educational technology courses all belong in Publications and Training with the provider and year. For school posts these often carry more weight than publications.

Frequently asked questions

Is this template for school teachers or for university faculty?

Both. The structure serves school, college and university applications, and the header panel adapts because it carries whatever your highest degree and years of teaching actually are. School applicants lean on Areas of Expertise and training, university applicants on qualifications and publications.

What if I have no publications?

Perfectly normal for school and most college posts. Use Publications and Training for professional development instead: certifications, curriculum workshops, assessment training. The section reads as complete either way.

How long should an academic CV be?

Two pages for a school teacher, three or more for university faculty with a publication record. Academia expects completeness, and a long publication list is a strength rather than padding. Do not compress it.

Can I use this for a provincial Educator post?

Check the advertisement. Many departmental and commission files require CNIC, domicile, a declaration and a signature, and this template carries none of them. The Government template is built for that file.

Should I include a photograph?

This template has no photo slot, which matches academic convention in most settings. If a specific application requires one, use the Government or Gulf Professional template, both of which have proper photo placement.

Where do conference presentations go?

In Publications and Training, listed after journal publications. Give the conference name, the location and the year, and mark clearly whether it was a presentation, a poster or an invited talk.

Does this work for teaching posts abroad?

The academic structure travels well. Requirements differ by country, and many require qualification recognition or a teaching licence, so check the position for your destination. For Gulf teaching roles where a photograph and visa status are expected, use the Gulf Professional template.
