Modern Resume Template
Built for Pakistani professionals applying to software houses, product companies, agencies and startups. The header carries a purple gradient band with your name and role, and dedicated slots for LinkedIn, GitHub and a portfolio link, because in these fields the work you can show matters as much as the work you can describe.
There is no CNIC or personal details block. That is deliberate. Technology employers in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and the international clients many of them serve, do not ask for date of birth or marital status, and including them makes a CV read as dated.
Who this template is for
This template suits roles where a link is worth more than a paragraph. Pick this template if you are:
- A software engineer, frontend or backend developer, mobile developer, QA engineer or DevOps engineer
- A designer, UI or UX practitioner, product designer, motion designer or illustrator with work to show
- A product manager, business analyst, data analyst or growth marketer
- Applying to a Pakistani software house, a product company, a digital agency or a funded startup
- A freelancer on Upwork or Fiverr moving into a full time role, with a portfolio already built
- Applying to a remote role for a company outside Pakistan, where no local personal details are expected
- Someone with two or more years of full time experience who has outgrown a graduate format
Why this template works for technology roles
GitHub and portfolio links are fields, not afterthoughts
The contact row has dedicated slots for LinkedIn, GitHub and a portfolio URL, each appearing only when you supply one. A hiring engineer usually opens the repository before reading the experience section, so the link belongs in the header rather than buried at the bottom.
No personal details block, on purpose
Technology employers do not ask for CNIC, date of birth, marital status or religion, and remote employers outside Pakistan often actively avoid collecting them. Removing the block saves space for work history and signals that you understand the market you are applying to.
Skills and Expertise sits alongside the work
Stacks change faster than job titles in this field. The Skills and Expertise section gives your languages, frameworks and tools a clear block of their own, so a reviewer can check the stack match before reading a single bullet point.
A design that looks current without being a graphic
A purple gradient header band over a clean white body, set in Segoe UI. There are no skill rating bars, no circular progress charts and no icon grids, which are the elements that look impressive in a screenshot and parse into nonsense when a system reads the file.
Standard section names underneath the styling
Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education, Skills and Expertise, Certifications, Languages. The look is contemporary, the structure is conventional, which is the combination that survives both a human reviewer and an automated one.

How to write a strong technology CV using this template
In technology hiring the CV is a filter, not the decision. Its job is to get someone to open your GitHub and book a call. Here is how to write it so that happens.
Put the stack in the summary, not just in the skills list
Make the links real and current
A GitHub profile with no commits in two years is worse than no link at all. Before you add it, pin two or three repositories with a readable README. A portfolio link should open to work, not to a landing page that says a portfolio is coming soon.
Describe what you owned, not what the team did
Reviewers assume the team shipped the product. They want to know your part in it.
Separate what you use daily from what you have tried
Listing twenty technologies at the same level invites an interview question you cannot answer. Group them honestly, for example "Daily: React, TypeScript, Node, PostgreSQL. Familiar: Docker, AWS Lambda, Redis." Interviewers respect the distinction and probe the first group.
Write freelance work as employment
If you have delivered on Upwork or Fiverr, list it as a role with a date range, client types and outcomes rather than hiding it under a skills heading. Sustained freelance delivery is work history, and in Pakistan it is often the strongest part of a candidate's record.
Keep certifications relevant and dated
AWS, Google Cloud, Meta and Microsoft certifications carry weight in this field. List the issuer and the year. Leave out short video courses; they dilute the ones that count.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no CNIC field on this template?
Because technology employers do not ask for it, and remote employers outside Pakistan generally prefer not to hold it. If you are applying somewhere that requires CNIC, date of birth or marital status, the Classic template has a Personal Information block built in.
What if I do not have a GitHub or a portfolio?
Those slots simply do not appear and the header closes up. The template still works. That said, for a development or design role, a single well documented project does more for your application than any wording change you could make.
Is the purple gradient too much for a corporate employer?
For a bank or a government department, probably. Those readers expect a conventional document, and the Bank Corporate or Classic template is the better fit. For software houses, agencies and startups the design reads as current rather than flashy.
Will an automated screen read this correctly?
The layout is single column with ordinary text headings and no tables, graphics or rating bars, which is what parsers handle well. The gradient is a background and does not affect text extraction. For the most conservative option, the ATS Friendly template removes styling altogether.
How long should a technology CV be?
One page up to about five years of experience, two pages after that. Depth belongs in your repositories and in the interview, not in a third page of bullet points.
Can I use this for a remote job with a foreign company?
Yes, and it is one of the better choices for that. The absence of local personal details matches what employers in the US, UK and Europe expect, and the link slots let them verify your work without asking.
Should I list my university if it is not well known?
List it. In technology hiring the institution matters far less than what you have built, and an education section with no institution named looks like something is being concealed.

Technology roles vary more than their titles suggest: a frontend post wants the component work foregrounded, a backend post wants scale and reliability, a product post wants outcomes. The Pro plan at PKR 4,999 per month gives you five CVs and five cover letters per month with priority support, so each application can lead with the right evidence.
