ATS Friendly Resume Template

ATS Friendly Resume Template · Built to be read by software first

Built for applications that a machine sees before a person does. This template is deliberately the plainest in the library: Arial, black on white, one column, no icons, no tables, no columns, no graphics. Every one of those omissions is a known reason a CV parses badly and gets ranked below candidates with weaker experience.

The personal details that Pakistani employers expect are still here, but they sit in an Additional Information section at the foot of the page rather than near the top, so a parser reads your experience and skills before it reaches CNIC and date of birth.

ATS friendly resume template Pakistan, plain single column CV format for online job portals by ResumifyAI

Who this template is for

This template is for anyone whose CV is uploaded rather than handed over. Pick this template if you are:

  • Applying through Rozee.pk, LinkedIn, Indeed, Bayt, Naukrigulf or any portal with an upload field
  • Applying to a multinational or a large Pakistani group that runs a recruitment system rather than an inbox
  • Applying to many roles at once, where each application is a form submission
  • Applying through a recruitment agency that loads your CV into its own database
  • Applying to Gulf job portals, where volume screening is standard
  • Someone with strong experience who keeps being rejected without an interview and cannot work out why
  • Unsure how a company processes applications, and wanting the safest option
If a person will definitely read your CV first, for example a referral, a walk in interview or a small company, you can afford a more designed template. The Classic or Modern template will make a better first impression on a human reader.

Why this template gets through automated screening

One column, read in the order you wrote it

Two column CVs are the single most common parsing failure. A parser can read a two column page left to right across both columns, which turns your job titles and your skills list into one scrambled line. This template has one column, so there is nothing to scramble.

No tables, no text boxes, no graphics

Content placed inside tables and text boxes is frequently skipped entirely, and images are invisible to a parser by definition. Everything on this page is ordinary text in ordinary paragraphs, so everything you wrote is what gets extracted.

Section headings a parser recognises

Professional Summary, Professional Experience, Education, Skills, Certifications, Languages, Additional Information. These are the standard headings recruitment systems are built to look for. Creative alternatives such as "Where I have been" or "My toolkit" mean the section is not categorised and its content may be discarded.

Arial, black on white, nothing else

No colour, no icons in the contact line, no decorative separators. The contact details are divided by plain pipe characters. Uncommon fonts and icon glyphs can extract as question marks or empty boxes, which is how a phone number silently disappears.

Personal details moved to the bottom

CNIC, date of birth and marital status sit in Additional Information at the end. Many systems score the first portion of a CV most heavily, and Pakistani candidates routinely spend that space on details that carry no hiring weight. Your summary and experience go first instead.

How to write a CV that clears automated screening

The template handles the structure. The wording is still yours, and most automated rejections come from wording rather than layout. Here is what to do.

Use the job advertisement's own words

Recruitment systems rank a CV on how closely it matches the posting. If the advertisement says "accounts receivable", write accounts receivable, not "receivables handling". Read the posting, take its nouns, and use them where they are true of you.

Posting says: "supply chain coordination, inventory planning, SAP MM"
Write: "Supply chain coordination for a 300 SKU catalogue, inventory planning across two warehouses, SAP MM for purchase orders and goods receipt."

Write the job title the way the market writes it

Internal titles do not travel. If your company called you an "Officer Grade II" and the market calls the role "Assistant Accountant", write the market title and keep the internal one in brackets if it matters.

Spell out abbreviations once, then use them

A system searching for "Chartered Accountant" will not match "CA" on its own, and one searching for "CA" will not match the words alone. Write both the first time: "Chartered Accountant (CA)", "Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)", "Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)".

Give every role a clear date range

Write dates as month and year on both ends, for example "March 2022 to July 2025". Systems calculate your total experience from these, and a missing or ambiguous end date can have you scored as having no experience at all.

Do not hide keywords

White text, tiny fonts and keyword blocks stuffed into the footer are detected, and the usual result is that the application is discarded and the candidate flagged. Everything on your CV should be true and visible.

Send the PDF you generated

Do not screenshot it, do not export it as an image, and do not password protect it. ResumifyAI produces a text based PDF, which is exactly what these systems can read. Converting it to an image makes it unreadable to the software and guarantees rejection.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ATS?

An applicant tracking system is the software a company uses to collect and sort applications. It extracts text from your CV, stores it against your record, and lets recruiters search and rank candidates. If it cannot read your file properly, your experience never enters the search results.

Do Pakistani companies really use these systems?

Large employers, multinationals and the major job portals do. Small and medium businesses often do not. Since you frequently cannot tell from the advertisement which applies, this template is the safe default for anything submitted through an upload field.

Is a plain CV going to look too boring?

Only if you assume a human sees it first. In a portal application the software decides whether a human sees it at all. Once you reach the interview, the conversation matters far more than the typography. For a referral or a walk in, use the Classic template instead.

Should I still include my photograph?

Not on this template, and it has no photo slot. Images are invisible to a parser and can interfere with text extraction around them. For Gulf applications where a photo is expected, use the Gulf Professional template.

PDF or Word?

Send the PDF unless the advertisement specifically asks for Word. Modern systems read text based PDFs reliably, and a PDF preserves your layout. The important thing is that the text is selectable rather than an image.

Why are CNIC and date of birth at the bottom?

Because they carry no hiring weight and many systems weight the opening portion of a CV most heavily. Putting them last means your summary and experience occupy the space that is scored highest, while the details are still there for whoever needs them.

Does this work for Gulf job portals?

Yes. Volume screening is standard on the large Gulf portals and this format reads cleanly. If the employer also expects a photograph, nationality and visa status, apply with the Gulf Professional template instead.
